Lake Naivasha is one of the jewels of a series of lakes found in the Great Rift Valley. The fresh water lake is an hours’ drive north west of Nairobi and sits at an elevation of 6,181 ft. Much of the lake is surrounded by forests of the yellow backed acacia xanthophlea. The place abounds with birdlife.
Crescent Island: This Island is one of the best secrets of Naivasha. It is one of the few places where you can walk among giraffes, zebras, waterbucks, impalas and countless bird species.
Besides is the famous Hells Gate national park. The spectacular scenery includes the towering cliffs, water-gouged gorges, stark rock towers, scrub clad volcanoes and belching plumes of geothermal steam make it one of the most atmospheric Parks in the region. It is the only park where walking is permitted which makes it ideal for adventure and nature lovers hiking, biking and rock climbing.
